Sealy and Vintage Clarets: The Dream Team

June 16th, 2015

Wembley

The sun was shining down on Wembley for the third annual Furniture Makers Cup, and it was our very own Sealy team who swept the board at the 5-a-side tournament.

The Sealy team, who just happened to also be named the 'Vintage Clarets' and were made up of ex Burnley FC professionals, had a whopping 21 goals scored, and 5 of the 7 games won; a clean sweep nearly, which would've wiped the competition out!

Luckily for everyone involved however, the Vintage Clarets were there purely for fun and to lend their support to the event on behalf of Sealy as the main sponsors.

The day started with all seven teams playing each other and a game each with the Vintage Clarets. There was then a round of semi-finals, which saw B&Q and By Charles & Charles reach the final playoff, with B&Q pipping them at the post with a 3-2 victory.

The winners B&Q then had one last game versus the Sealy Vintage Clarets, which saw the ex-pros take home a 3-2 victory.

The aim of the day was to raise funds for the great work that the Furniture Makers charity does, which was certainly achieved, as well as a fun day out for all the teams, spectators and supporters involved.
